This Privacy Policy explains how Dancing Robots Inc. ("Dancing Robots," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit dancingrobots.co (the "Site") or contact us through it. Dancing Robots Inc. is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and handles personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law.
By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information we collect
Information you provide. If you submit our contact form or email us, we collect the information you choose to give us — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. Providing this information is voluntary, but we need it to respond to you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting and analytics tools may automatically receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and settings, device information, referring pages, and the pages you view, along with the dates and times of your visits. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies, subject to the consent controls described below.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send it to us through the Site.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf.
We use Google Consent Mode. Analytics cookies are denied by default for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland until you opt in, and while denied, only limited, cookieless measurement occurs. Visitors elsewhere are measured with analytics enabled by default. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; blocking cookies may affect how the Site functions. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Purposes — how we use information
We collect, use, and disclose personal information for the following purposes:
- to respond to your inquiries and provide the information or services you request;
- to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- to send you administrative messages and, where you have asked to hear from us, occasional updates about Dancing Robots (you can opt out at any time);
- to understand aggregate usage and trends; and
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We will not use or disclose your personal information for a new purpose without your consent, except where permitted or required by law.
Consent
By providing personal information to us and using the Site, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us at privacy@dancingrobots.co; withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to you.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only as follows:
- Service providers. With vendors that help us run the Site and our business — including Google (Firebase / Google Cloud for website hosting and infrastructure, and Google Analytics for usage measurement) and our email delivery provider, which transmits contact-form submissions and related messages. These providers process information on our behalf under obligations of confidentiality and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required or permitted by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dancing Robots, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Storage and cross-border transfer
We are based in Canada, and some of our service providers (including those named above) may store and process personal information in the United States and other countries. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by their courts and government authorities. We use service providers that agree to protect personal information consistent with this policy and applicable law.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, to respond to and follow up on your inquiry — and as required to meet legal obligations, after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information to protect it against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete, and to withdraw consent as described above. To make a request, email us at privacy@dancingrobots.co. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), or your provincial privacy regulator.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
